Zendokai is not just another sports section or martial arts club. It is a fundamental path of personal transformation, where physical training becomes a tool for the harmonious development of body, mind, and spirit. Our organization in Austria began its activities in 2023 with the goal not merely of teaching self-defense techniques, but of cultivating "educated and strong people, conscious members of society."

We believe that true human strength is measured not by the number of medals won or opponents defeated, but by the ability to master one's own ego, overcome inner fears, and demonstrate sincere respect for others in any life situation.

From Student to Mentor: The Philosophy of Our Dojo

In the Zendokai system, the role of the Sensei goes far beyond that of a regular coach. A Sensei is a teacher, mentor, and guide on the Path (Do), who takes responsibility for the comprehensive development of each student. We strive for everyone who steps into our dojo to eventually undergo a transformation—from a passive recipient of knowledge to an active mentor, capable not only of performing techniques correctly, but also of passing on the wisdom and values of our art to future generations.

Our approach is firmly based on the "spirit of the samurai." The founder of our style, Master Takashi Ozawa, interprets this spirit primarily as deep respect for other people. This respect is reflected in everything: from the traditional bow when entering the dojo, symbolizing humility and readiness to learn, to ethical and noble behavior during the most intense sparring sessions.
