At Zendokai, we practice an individual approach to each student, understanding that every athlete has a unique pace of development, physical abilities, and personal goals.
Our Age Groups and Training Characteristics
Early Development (ages 3–5)
At this stage, training is mainly conducted through games. The main focus is on developing basic motor skills: coordination, balance, flexibility, and reaction speed. This is the stage where a love for sport is instilled and the first introduction to the discipline of dōjō takes place.
Young Junior Group (ages 5–7)
This period is the “golden age of motor skills,” when a solid technical foundation is laid. Training combines game elements with the initial study of basic techniques (Kihon). Particular attention is paid to developing flexibility and improving coordination of movements.
Junior Group (ages 7–12)
In this group, the emphasis shifts to in-depth study of Kihon, etiquette, and the formation of iron discipline. Athletes are already actively working in pairs and learning the art of wrestling. This is the age for forming correct movement patterns and understanding the values of the dojo.
Teenagers and Adults (ages 12–18+)
Safety and Methodological Approach
We strictly adhere to the principles of a safe and controlled training environment:
Professional Pairing
Athletes work in pairs carefully selected by the instructor according to weight, age, and technical level.
Individual Adaptation
Training load, intensity, and exercise complexity are adapted to each athlete's capabilities.
Culture of Respect
We use the Sempai system, where experienced athletes help beginners adapt and serve as role models.
